Canada faces climate jungle as Copenhagen summit looms

As world leaders acknowledge a meeting in Copenhagen next month will fail to produce a binding climate change treaty, Canada’s environment minister says domestic rules for carbon reductions won’t be in place until late 2010, or beyond… Last weekend, Copenhagen conference leaders confirmed what had already been widely speculated. They said a binding international treaty to limit greenhouse gas emissions from 2012 onward will not be completed during the 11-day international conference, as had been expected.
