Canadian business confident of readiness for IFRS changeover, but plenty of work ahead: CIBC/RBC survey

A survey of Canadian Chartered Accountants in senior executive roles suggests that many companies believe they will be ready for the changeover to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), but they remain in the early stages of preparedness. About 425 senior executives were surveyed in November as part of the Q4 2008 CICA/RBC Business Monitor study. Just over half the individuals surveyed indicated their company will need to adhere to IFRS, and approximately 80 per cent of those respondents indicated it is very likely their company will be ready for IFRS.
