U of A gets $4M gift

A $4-million gift to the University of Alberta’s faculty of arts from local philanthropists Peter [FCA] and Doris Kule will establish what will become one of the world’s leading interdisciplinary institutes, university officials say… The Kules’ interest in the history and culture of Ukraine will be the focus of the institute, which will study issues such as political oppression, cultural identity and religious persecution, said interim dean of arts Colleen Skidmore… The Kules didn’t speak publicly at the ceremony. Peter Kule said in a brief interview he would like to eventually see the institute expand and be recognized throughout Canada and the United States…
