Investors want advice, and cheap trades

Every once in a while, Norman Myden [CA] has a little extra money to put into the stock market. He has a full-service broker, but sometimes prefers to pull the trigger himself. “I don’t to it very often, but if there is something particular that I can do quickly, I’ll just go ahead and do it myself,” said the Calgary-based chartered accountant. “I buy the odd stock, but I’m not a financial planner—I don’t have the time or the ability to do the research. I think that’s what a broker is supposed to do for you.”
