The Practice Review Committee is responsible for making decisions with respect to practice reviews in accordance with the Regulated Accounting Profession Act (RAPA), regulations, by-laws and council resolutions. The committee also approves procedures, maintains communications with registrants and advises council on relevant strategy and policy matters. Effective May 1, 2006 the practice review committee became a joint committee consisting of 8 Chartered Accountants, 2 Certified Management Accountants and 1 Public Representative. It is comprised of members of firm’s representative of the size and geographical location of practicing firms in the province. They are individuals who collectively possess the experience and technical knowledge needed to address the broad range of circumstances that will come before it. This includes current knowledge of the standards in the CICA Handbook in the areas of accounting, assurance, and compilations.
