In a joint effort with the provinces and territories of Canada, ICAA is offering four ELearning sessions: Income Tax Refresher: Corporate, Income Tax Refresher: Personal, ASPE: An Overview of the Standards, and Auditing in the New CAS Environment. Each session is offered in a module format. Online access to the expert (facilitator) is available for eight weeks.

Effective January 1, 2011, accounting by Canadian private enterprises will be changing; these enterprises will be required to use either International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE). This session will help participants gain a reasonable understanding of the ASPE requirements to improve their technical knowledge of Canadian standards for private enterprises. A clear understanding of ASPE, especially by those who may have been removed from the Handbook in recent years, will allow those individuals to appreciate the shift that has occurred in Canadian accounting standards.
Seminar Code 99860 This session provides an overview and general refresher on corporate income tax matters. The emphasis is on tax matters of interest to owner managers and small business in a public practice context. Case studies are used to illustrate some of the tax concepts.
Seminar Code 99861 This session provides an overview and general refresher on personal income tax matters. The emphasis is on tax matters of interest to individuals and owner-managers in a public practice context. Case Studies are used to illustrate some tax concepts.
Seminar Code 99014 This session provides an introduction to International Financial Reporting Standards 9IFRS) that came into effect in Canada in 2011.

This online seminar is presented in a joint effort with the other provincial and territorial institutes of Canada. This session provides an overview and general refresher on corporate income tax matters. The emphasis is on tax matters of interest to owner-managers and small business in a public practice context. Case studies are used to illustrate some of the tax concepts.
You have two options for managing your Internet hours while working on these sessions: • Study entirely online using the electronic courseware provided • Study part-time online by reviewing seminar materials you download in a PDF document
Notes: • Prior to the session commencement, you will be given password access to the online courseware via e-mail • Within this courseware, you will find instructions on how to work through the session, all necessary seminar materials, as well as a range of interactive learning activities designed to make studying on the Internet a rich and rewarding experience While the suggested CPD credit hours for an E-Learning seminar is 12 hours, since this covers the same material as the two-day classroom seminar, the ICAA understands that more time can be spent in Self-Study, which may be considered verifiable CPD credit if you fill out the online quizzes as evidence of completion. Participants should track and record the actual time spent.
You will have access to an online facilitator for all your questions on the seminar material. Your results are tracked as you progress through the modules and quizzes to ensure your PD is verifiable. Registration Fee
The registration fee for each seminar is $440 plus GST (non-members pay $540 plus GST). Passport holders may use 12 passport tickets for each seminar. All registration terms and conditions apply.

Using the consolidation feature is not limited to companies with multiple entities; it is appropriate for departmental and fund reporting. Fundamentals of CaseView A one day basic course critical to utilizing word processor and spreadsheet features used in the preparation of financial statements, engagement letters, memorandum etc. This course is appropriate for individuals within the firm/company responsible for development and management of the template. September 29, 2010 8:30 – 5:00 (Calgary) October 20, 2010 8:30 – 5:00 (Edmonton) Advanced CaseView This course is appropriate for individuals within the firm/company responsible for maintaining and developing templates in CaseView. It is a one day demonstration and instruction on the advanced features of CaseView and their application for the production of standardized financial statements and reports.
