There are four ways to register today for your CPD product offerings.

1. To register online go to: http://www.albertacas.ca/ProfessionalDevelopment/SeminarsProducts/Search.aspx
   Online CPD registrations are now automated and you will be registered for seminars immediately upon completion of the online transaction.
2. Email your request to cpd.registration@icaa.ab.ca with payment.
3. Fax your registration form to the Member Education dedicated line at (780) 428-7519.
4. Mail your registration form to the ICAA office with payment.
   Registrations received by e-mail, fax or mail will take between 5 to 7 business days to process.

Yes, anyone can register you for a seminar, but once you are registered, in order to administer any changes to your registration(s), and/or to request information about your CPD registration(s) we must have written consent. If you want to give permission to an individual to administer or have access to your CPD information please complete the Consent to Release CPD Information Form and fax the completed form to Member Education at (780) 428-7519. This form is necessary to ensure your privacy.

Yes. Anyone can take ICAA courses. As a CMA, you would only be eligible for the member rate if, you are a  Member of the Certified Management Accountants of Alberta (CMAA) who is a proprietor or partner of a registered Public Accounting Firm, or Professional Service Provider. If you are unsure if you qualify, or would like to learn more, please contact the ICAA at: (780) 424-7391.

Yes. Any member in good standing with their Provincial Institute will be given the member rates on courses at the ICAA.

You are not able to cancel after the deadline date because your registration is taken into account when the financial decision to run the course was made. Also, your registration is taken into account when making final arrangements for the room and lunch (if required) and if the course is filled to capacity, the Institute might have turned away other participants. The Institute’s policy is consistent with virtually any other organization that delivers training course.

The penalty fee is the same for full and half day courses because this is an administrative fee to cover the processing costs related to a cancellation. Administratively a full and half day course are the same amount of work per registration so the penalty is the same.

A deadline is necessary to allow time for the ICAA staff to prepare seminar material, registration lists and make administrative decisions on class sizes and placement.

Confirmation letters will be sent via email upon completion of the registration process. Typically registrations are processed within 5 working days; however processing time varies depending on volume. Please note: Confirmation and Reminder letters are provided as a professional courtesy. All assessments apply whether or not you received a Confirmation or Reminder letter.

A Reminder letter is sent 10 business days prior to the offering date. Registrations received after this date will be confirmed via email. Please note: Confirmation and Reminder letters are provided as a professional courtesy. All assessments apply whether or not you received a Confirmation or Reminder letter.

If you do not receive a Confirmation five days prior to the offering date, please contact the Member Education Department; you may not be registered.

If you register online you will receive your Confirmation after you click on the “Process Payment” button and your transaction is successful.
If you register via fax, e-mail, post or in person, your Confirmation letter will be sent by e-mail only up to 5 business days after it is received by the ICAA. Please contact Member Education with your current e-mail address.

If you are a member of the ICAA, you will need your member number and password and an e-mail address.

If you are not a member of the ICAA, you will need to create an account, if you have not already done so. You will require an e-mail address and your employment information if you are using a Corporate Passport.

Yes, they will require your member number and password as they will need to log in under your account to ensure that you are registered for the seminar.

No, you must log in as each individual to ensure that each individual is registered for the seminar(s) that they are to attend. If the registrants name does not appear on the class list they will be denied admission to the seminar.

To register online for a seminar using Corporate Passport Tickets, you must know the Corporate Passport number and be employed in the same organization as the owner of the Corporate Passport and this employment information must be in your online account. If your employer information does not match, the Corporate Passport cannot be added to your payment method option.

To pay for a seminar using Corporate Passport Tickets:

• Click on the “Check Out” button.
  
• Enter the Corporate Passport number and click on the “Add Corporate Passport to List” button. If you are using more than one Corporate Passport, add each number to your list.
  
• Once all of the Corporate Passport numbers have been added to your inventory, under the Payment Method Heading, click on the dropdown arrow and select the Corporate Passport number that you would like to use to pay for each seminar selected.
  
• Once all of the payment methods are selected click on the “Process Payment” button.
  
• The Passport Tickets are removed from the Passport
  
• You are registered once you receive online your receipt and Confirmation letter. Please print for your records.

To pay for a seminar using Personal Passport Tickets:

• Click on the “Check Out” button.
• Under the Payment Method Heading, click on the dropdown arrow and select the personal Passport number that you would like to use to pay for each seminar selected.
• Once all of the payment methods are selected, click on the “Process Payment” button.
• The Passport Tickets are removed from the Passport.
• You are registered once you receive online your receipt and Confirmation letter. Please print for your records.

You must complete the payment process by clicking on the “Process Payment” button at the bottom of the “Process Payment” page. If you do not click on the “Process Payment” button your transaction will not be completed and your name will not appear on the class list.

Upon the successful completion of the online registration process, you will see a receipt with the seminar details below. After each seminar title you will see either Registered or Waitlist depending on the status of your registration. Please print this Confirmation letter and receipt for you records.

Yes, if you are registered, and for some reason cannot attend, you can request to receive the course materials. Please note that the institute will prepare the material for you, but you are responsible for either picking the material up at the institute, or for arranging a courier to pick it up. Please note that you will also retain the hours for your CPD declaration, but they will be considered non-verifiable.

Unless Member Education has received a written statement from the registrant the material cannot be picked-up.

No, it is not possible to register for a seminar after the registration deadline date (5 business days prior to the seminar start date). It is necessary to impose a deadline date to allow sufficient time to make final seminar decisions and to handle the administration functions of the program including: shipping sufficient seminar materials, arranging seats at the facility, and requesting sufficient number of meals.

If a seminar is full we encourage members to put their name on a wait list. If a spot opens up we will contact those on the wait list on a first come first serve basis. In addition, depending on the length of the wait list Member Education may also open another offering at a later date.

The ICAA reserves the right to cancel seminars. Seminars are cancelled to do low attendance and/or circumstance outside of our control.

The ICAA reserves the right to cancel seminars. When a seminar is cancelled a notice of cancellation will be given at minimum 5 business days in advance of the seminar start date where possible. A full refund is provided.

Send your request, in writing, to the Member Education department 10 business days prior to the seminar start date to receive a full refund. Requests received between 10 business days and 5 business days, will be granted, subject to an administration fee of $50.00 + GST.

We cannot provide a refund if cancellations are made after this time because your registration is taken into account when financial decisions are made to either run or cancel a seminar. Considerations will be given to exceptional circumstance with written request.

Yes, if the seminar was paid using a Corporate Passport ticket and the request is submitted, in writing, at least 3 business days before the first seminar date. Seminar transfer cannot be made if purchased using a Personal Passport ticket, as they are non-transferable.

In order to successfully transfer into a different seminar you must submit your request, in writing, 5 business days prior to the seminar start date. Seminar Transfer requests made within 10 business days of the seminar will be subject to a $50.00 + GST administration fee. This deadline is necessary to allow sufficient time for the ICAA to prepare seminar material and ensure other administrative issues on class size, placement and meals are addressed.

No, unless you are on the wait list and are contacted directly that a space has opened up, you cannot simply “show up” at the seminar site in hopes that someone does not show up. It is only fair that all seminar attendees that have paid the necessary registration fees and have abided by the registration policies have a reserved spot in the seminar.

Passports represent volume discounts for members and other professionals taking multiple CPD seminars, E-Learning, or Audio CDs throughout the PD season.

Personal Passport: A Personal Passport is sold to and can only be used by the member. The Personal Passport consists of 40 tickets, each of which corresponds to (1) hour of PD. Passports are valid from April 1 to March 31 of each PD season. Considerations will be given to exceptional circumstance with written request.

Corporate Passport: A Corporate Passport is sold to the member, but is transferrable to anyone within the member’s corporation. The Corporate Passport consists of 40 tickets, each of which corresponds to (1) hour of PD. Passports are valid from April 1 to March 31 of each year. Considerations will be given to exceptional circumstance with written request.

You qualify as a member to purchase a passport if you are a Canadian Chartered Accountant or a Certified Management Accountant of Alberta (CMAA) who is a proprietor or partner of a registered Public Accounting Firm or Professional Service Provider, registerd with the ICAA or CMAA.

Yes, the ICAA CPD website allows ICAA members to purchase Personal and Corporate Passports online at https://www.icaa.ab.ca/Pages/Store/Passports.aspx. You must be an ICAA member and must log in to purchase a Personal or Corporate Passport online.

To purchase a Personal Passport

• Log In to the ICAA website
• Click on Continuing Professional Development

• Enter the quantity of Personal Passports you would like to purchase.
• Click on the “Purchase Corporate Passport(s)” Button.
• You will be taken to the Shopping Cart.
• To pay for a Passport using a credit card click on the “Check Out” button at the bottom right of your page.
  o Enter your credit card information.
  o Click on the “Process Payment” button.
  o The credit card payment is processed immediately.
• Once the payment has been successfully processed, you will receive a receipt and your Confirmation letter with the Personal Passport Numbers. Please print the receipt and Confirmation letter for your records.
• You are now ready to register yourself for seminars with your Personal Passports.

The personal passport is sold to the individual to reduce the per course cost of multiple registrations for an individual and is not-transferable. The Corporate PD passports are in place to allow for multiple CAs and employees to use the same passport at a cost savings.

No, Passport tickets are only valid for one CPD season which runs from April 1 to March 31.
The purchase of a Passport allows the owner a volume discount on the current year seminars, thus, it expires at the end of the applicable season.

No refunds will be granted on Personal or Corporate Passports.

For every Passport you have purchased, you can obtain a maximum of (3) extra tickets. They can be obtained by contacting the ICAA at 780-424-7391, and speaking to one of our Client Services Representatives. They are: $33.75 + GST for extra personal Passport tickets, and $44.50 + GST for extra corporate Passport tickets.
