Centennial 2010

ICAA Spur-tacular

On September 21, 2010, the ICAA will host the Centennial Spur-tacular: An evening in support of the Chartered Accountants Education Foundation of Alberta. In true Western spirit, we will host the event at the BMO Centre, Stampede Park in Calgary.

This fundraising event is an opportunity to celebrate a milestone for the CA profession in Alberta, celebrate with CICA colleagues, and most importantly, raise funds for the foundation which ultimately furthers our profession as a whole.

CApitalize

The Fall 2010 issue of CApitalize is now being circulated to students across Alberta. CApitalize is produced on a semi-annual basis and is designed to introduce students to the Chartered Accounting profession in Alberta. It is distributed to about 4,000 readers, including university, college, and high school students, as well as career couseling and other student-oriented centres.

 

Merit Awards

Do You Know an Outstanding CA? Nominate them for a Merit Award today!

Merit Awards recognize candidates who have brought honour to the profession by their achievements in business and their contributions to the community. There are three categories of recognition open for nomination: Fellows of the Chartered Accountants, Distinguished Service and Early Achievement. The Nomination Deadline for the 2011 Merit Awards is October 31, 2010.

New CATOs

The University of Alberta & KWB LLP (Tax) become CA Training Offices

The ICAA would like to congratulate the University of Alberta and KWB LLP (Tax stream) on being approved as CA Training Offices (CATOs). They join several Alberta organizations training CA students in the corporate or government sector. A complete list of these CATOs is available at www.CATOadvantage.ca.
