2010 Centennial

This year marks a very special milestone for the Chartered Accountants of Alberta. Throughout 2010, the ICAA is celebrating 100 years of dedication to protecting the public, providing accounting and business excellence, and adding value to Alberta’s communities through volunteering. The Institute has planned a number of special initiatives and activities, including a Centennial Speaker Series, commemorative publications, volunteer activities, and a special edition of the Institute’s AGM at the Jasper Park Lodge.

Tax Clinics

2010 Tax Clinics: Volunteers Needed

Tax time is just around the corner and so are the ICAA's annual Tax Clinics! Each spring, from March to April, tax clinic volunteers dedicate a few hours of their time to help low income seniors, disabled, unemployed, new Canadian citizens and others complete their personal tax returns.

You don't have to be a tax expert to help! The tax returns are generally fairly basic. Prior to the clinic, all volunteers will receive an information package and basic guidelines for preparing these types of tax returns. Tax software is also provided, courtesy of our corporate sponsor, Intuit.

Bridge Builders

The Chartered Accountants Education Foundation of Alberta is looking for 100 CAs and Foundation supporters to each donate $1,000 to Bridges to the Future and become a member of the Bridge Builder 100 Club. Every Bridge Builder’s generosity will be celebrated and promoted throughout 2010 – the 100th anniversary of the CA profession in Alberta.
