The CAEF encourages a wide variety of projects at post-secondary universities that lead to enhanced educational opportunities and benefits to the profession, including innovative curriculum; advanced research; and initiatives that provide a link between the academic environment and practicing professionals in order to enrich both groups.
Annual funding is provided to the Universities of Alberta, Calgary, Lethbridge and Saskatchewan to support their accounting education programs. This funding is contingent upon annual applications for funding from each university and approval from the CAEF Board. These four universities supply the majority of entrants into the CA program in Alberta and the profession is proud to partner with these institutions to ensure students receive the highest quality of accounting and business education.
The CAEF is also committed to supporting other post-secondary institutions. We look forward to developing relationships with recently approved degree-granting institutions in Alberta to support them in delivering quality education to business and accounting students. The Foundation is excited to have the opportunity to expand our support and attract the best and brightest from institutions across Alberta to the CA profession.
In addition, to further enhance the impact of financial support from Alberta’s Chartered Accountants to post-secondary institutions, the CAEF Matching and Special Project Funding programs are available for initiatives that improve the quality of education offered to accounting students.
