In a world of instant credit, online shopping, and “no down payment” offers, young people can get the wrong messages about responsible use of credit, the true costs of loans, or even about when and how to open a bank account. The Chartered Accountants Education Foundation of Alberta (CAEF) believes that an individual’s future success often begins with a solid grounding in personal money management. To help young Albertans learn the basics of money management, the CAEF has launched Paying it Forward This campaign will help raise the funds needed for projects that will help young people gain the knowledge and confidence they need to manoeuvre successfully through today’s money maze – before they turn 18. Alberta’s more than 10,000 Chartered Accountants have the expertise and the commitment to their communities that will make this project a success. Goal: To raise $250,000 to fund projects that will give Alberta youth the tools they need to be financially responsible as adults.
CAEF Charity Reg # 119211134RR0001 The cost of fundraising will be no more than 10% of funds raised from this campaign.
After the goal is met, the CAEF will work with partner organizations to develop and deliver a variety of products including: • information kits for students • a financial literacy web portal for youth • podcasts, webinars and a video(s) on financial literacy • school visits by CAs or other relevant experts Together, we can provide Alberta youth with the tools they need to be financially responsible as adults.
