CA School of Business

CASB delivers the pre-qualification education for prospective CAs living in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, the Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. While students complete the program, they are also completing three years of practical experience. This combination of work experience and education helps students develop the professional qualities, skills and technical competence expected of today’s Chartered Accountants.
CASB’s program comprises six learning modules, led by trained facilitators who are also practicing CAs. There are five eight-week modules to help students develop the technical and pervasive competencies required by CAs, and one module specifically to help students prepare for the UFE.

Information about CA Training Offices and Practical Experience Requirements

The CA qualification process is an integrated process of academic study, professional education (including the profession’s Uniform Evaluation — the “UFE”), and practical experience.

The practical experience component of CA Qualification is a partnership between the CA profession and CA Training Offices. Practical experience provides CA Students with exposure to a spectrum of issues faced by professionals in the process of qualifying to become Chartered Accountants.

All CA Students must fulfill their practical experience requirements by working in a CA Training Office, which may be in a CA firm, in the corporate sector, or in the public sector. The practical experience they acquire, the environment in which it is provided, and the CAs who guide the CA Students and set the example of CA professionalism are core to the development of every new CA. Below are a list of CA Training Office profiles.

CA Training Office profiles will be added throughout the summer.
