Website Developer

Are you a Web Developer with three to five years of experience looking for a new opportunity with enough diversity to keep it interesting? If so, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta (ICAA) is looking for a full-time permanent Web Developer.

Reporting to the Manager of IT, this position is responsible for updating the existing ICAA webpages and the design and development of new pages and functionality on the website determined by business needs. The design of these pages and their functionality will also require integration with ICAA’s custom Member DataBase (MDB) – a custom desktop application that communicates with a SQL 2008 database. ICAA currently uses Telerik’s Sitefinity Web Content Management tool. The breakdown of responsibilities for the position is as follows:

Website Programming (70%)

• Develop custom modules based on business requirements
• Meeting with Subject Matter Experts to ensure requirements are clear before coding begins
• Troubleshooting and debug existing website pages 
• Enhance current visual layout or provide recommendations to enhance navigation of ICAA’s website

Testing (25%)

• Reviewing all new code and testing this against the business requirements.
• Updating related process documentation.

Deployments (5%)

• Deploying new website builds into the development, test and production environments using change management skills.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A diploma or degree in Computer Technology with minimum three to five year’s relevant programming experience.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team is required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills are essential with a customer service attitude.
• Experience in maintaining websites running off IIS and knowledge with .Net (C#), ASP, HTML and scripting in JAVA and VBS is required.
• Familiarity with Telerik’s Sitefinity Web Content Management would be strongly beneficial.
